Frequently Asked Questions:

What is an initial assessment?

This is the opportunity for you to share your specific needs for My Concierge LLC to give you a general idea of the level of help to satisfy your need.

What does the initial assessment cost?

This is the opportunity for us to get to know each other and see if we are a good fit.  The first 30 minutes are free unless the travel distance is over 40 miles.  Phone or Skype visits are welcome for long distance meetings as well.

How often do you provide help?

Office hours are weekdays 9AM to 5PM Eastern US Time.  My Concierge LLC will come to you or work remotely during those hours.  For on-site clients two-hour minimum office visit is customary unless the distance is over 40 miles, then 3 hours is the site requirement.  Support may be provided once a month or as often as weekly depending on the level of need.

Can you help my mom or dad?

My Concierge LLC loves to help seniors and their families and will assess each situation individually.  It is best to discuss this with your senior and involve them as much as possible.  For the initial assessment it is preferred to have all attend.

What if I don’t live in Virginia or in the USA, can you help me?

My Concierge LLC will travel with a written agreement to cover expenses.  Modern technology makes remote service an economical alternative to get support.

How can you help when the language and money is different?

Patty came from a military family and traversed the globe at an early age, learning to use and convert currency of several countries.  Paper and money management have some universal principals that apply to diverse businesses and different cultures.

Do you have insurance?

Yes, My Concierge LLC is licensed in Virginia and insured.  Certificates may be provided upon request.

What kinds of businesses do you help?

Whether it is a retail shop needing an inventory or a construction company sending out invoices My Concierge LLC can help.

Do you process payroll?

My Concierge LLC can process payroll for an extra fee.  We usually recommend using payroll service such as ADP because they are more cost effective.  They also are flexible in that you may write your own net checks, but they will take care of all the HR forms and getting the taxes paid on time.

For a small business starting it is best to contract the payroll so there is no danger of getting behind in required forms and taxes.

Do you prepare State & Federal taxes?

My Concierge LLC helps clients gather data for the CPA or tax preparer; and may help rough draft the forms to save time and money when seeking professional help.  She has experience with Turbo Tax and non-profit tax forms.  She can create spreadsheets for donations and other deductions.

Do you do audits or annual reviews?

Federal and State governments and organization bylaws often require a CPA to sign off on an audit or review.  while My Concierge LLC does do accounting, and has experience with audits, we are not a CPA firm.  However, we can help our clients prepare for an audit by assisting with gathering all the required data and posting to spreadsheets. We may also offer to review policies/procedures before our clients go through an external audit.

What software/hardware do you use?

QuickBooks desktop or Online, depending on the client’s preference.  I have a lot of Excel expertise, as well as Word and PowerPoint.  I can also help with Square and Weebly.

Do you create websites?

I created and manage this site via WordPress.  I am not a website developer, but I help friends and clients with website management and e-commerce using WIX, WordPress, Square & Weebly.  I am comfortable in either Apple or MS platforms.

How much do you charge?

In 2019 the annual national average salary for a full-service bookkeeper (one who also prepares reports) was between 38,000 USD & 46,000 USD.  Hourly average part-time full-service bookkeepers may be paid from $18-$22 per hour.  Then the employer must guarantee so many hours, as well as cover costs like workers comp insurance. (Overhead is usually 2 1/2 times the rate.)  As a subcontracted 1099 worker, My Concierge LLC only charges for actual work time. Clients save money by only paying for what they need when they need it.

Unless long distances are involved, there is no travel time charge, and the rate is $55 USD/hour payable at the time of service.  For ongoing work a monthly invoice will be provided on the 4th Friday of each month due upon receipt. A client may calculate their cost based on the hours they expect My Concierge to provide service.

Travel fees for out of area (Northampton County VA where I reside) are based on distance, tolls and air time.

What if I am not sure I can afford the help I need?

Again, the assessment is free.  You may need help with a budget plan to get your cash flowing again.  My Concierge could provide some temporary support to include streamlining your bill pay process online with training for you or your staff.

If you are trying to help a parent and not sure where they are financially, it is important to have a meeting with everyone present.

Having a competent full-service bookkeeper with My Concierge’s background is a value added plus.

Do you ever charge a flat rate for a special project?

Not usually, but My Concierge may provide an estimate of the time it will take to complete a project after reviewing the what is involved.  There would be a deposit of $110 to prepare this review and move forward. Then that fee may be discounted from the project once begun. If it is a large project there may also be a contract and retainer.

Do you take credit cards?

Cash or check is preferable.  If charge is the only option, VISA/MasterCard will be accepted via PayPal with an added 3% courtesy fee. See Payment page.
