Are you ready for fall?  Back to school?  Back to work?  Upcoming deadlines?

October 15th is the deadline for filing USA IRS taxes to avoid penalties and late fees.  That does not mean you should wait until that very last day.  It takes time to gather the paperwork to be ready for your CPA or tax professional.

You will probably need last year’s taxes, receipts for medical and charitable deductions, paperwork on purchase or sale of real estate.  If you own a business you need your profit/loss and balance sheet statements for the prior year.  As well as a list of assets and any changes of those.  If you already have a tax professional, they probably gave you a checklist to help with gathering your papers.  I can help you go through the checklist so you don’t forget anything that may help you save money.

I am setting appointments in August and September to help folks get caught up and be better prepared for the next season.
