Our top spot goes to a well-known manufacturer of some of the best gaming chairs around – the Secretlab EVO 2022. This chair may not offer the best ergonomic design on the list, however, it is much more affordable, making it more accessible to the gaming masses.
Overall, the Secretlab is very easy to assemble, with screw covers attaching magnetically, making the entire experience a pleasure. Design-wise, this is easily the most aesthetically pleasing Secretlab gaming chair to date, with plush back and seat rests, new and improved armrests, and a velvety-soft head pillow. This model comes in three different upholstery options, you can choose from their proprietary Hybrid Leatherette, SoftWeave Plus, and NAPA leather. Furthermore, their website lists 118 variants, offering a wide selection of colors and themes.
The build quality of this chair never comes into question, however, the armrests could be a bit tighter in general. We have a fully built-in lumbar support feature that implements this dial to tone the support exactly to your needs. While the lumbar pillow has been chucked, we still have a plush, memory foam head pillow. Just like the armrests and screw covers, the pillow is magnetic and snaps into the perfect spot without the need for that pesky strap.
This gaming chair certainly impressed us here at WePC, feel free to read our full Secretlab Titan EVO 2022 review to learn even more.
Razer Iskur X
Razer Iskur X Gaming Chair
Dimensions
50.24 x 27.97 x 25.03 – inches
Material
Faux Leather
Max Weight
300 pounds
Max Height
6’2″
- Sleek Ergonomic Design
- Classic Razer Branding
- Top Tier Comfort
- Green accents could be a turn off
Razer’s Iskur X gaming chair, is certainly one of the more eye-catching gaming chairs out there. It’s sleek and slender ergonomic design is perfect for anyone looking for the ultimate in comfort, without going too hard on the “your spine must be in this position at all times, or else” argument we see so common place among gaming chair manufacturers.
It’s arguably one of the best gaming chairs out there for the price. And comes complete with a faux leather finish, and nice subtle touches you’d expect from Razer, including green stitching and that three headed snake logo as well. That’s the only thing that could be a negative however, if your setup isn’t green in any way, then chucking some green stitching and that quite heavy-handed logo into it may look out of place.
Overall, the Iskur X is a good quality gaming chair which is nice value for money. We reviewed the original Razer Iskur chair and were pretty impressed, but this newer versions offers much of the same for cheaper – though you do miss out on a couple of adjustable features.
Noblechairs Hero
Noblechairs Hero Gaming Chair
Chair Type
Racer
Maximum Load
150kg
Gross Weight
30Kg
Sitting Height
19” – 22”
- Fantastic lumbar and back support
- Ergonomic design which looks hugely impressive
- Excellent build quality
- Premium materials used throughout the chair
- 4 directional armrests
- Lumbar support pillow isn’t fixed and quite un-supportive
- Arms feel quite flimsy
- Quite firm sitting experience
Noblechairs have excellent choices when it comes to materials and we decided their HERO model was worthy of our best-of. This is a well-designed chair that should stand the test of time and to top it off, assembly is incredibly easy. Our Noblechairs Hero review will tell you all about this gaming chair in detail.
In terms of comfort, this gaming chair could split opinions. That isn’t to say we had an uncomfortable experience but the base is pretty firm and some may not enjoy that. The benefit of the firmness ties in with the overall ergonomic design, in that it supports your back and helps posture. The black PU leather is a superb alternative for those that dislike fabric chairs and comes with the added bonus of being super sleek. Behind the material sits Noblechairs lumbar support system.
The support can be dialed in with the knob on the side and the chair obviously comes with a head pillow but that is pretty basic. Overall, this is a superb gaming chair and offers those who play/work in a hotter climate/ stuffy room a more breathable solution. GT Omega Element

Maximum Load
150kg
Dimensions
136 x 68 x 73 cm
Sitting Height
40-46 cm
- Very affordable
- Ergonomics are solid
- Wide base
- Some might find it too firm
- Included lumbar pillow and neck cushion feel cheap
GT Omega may not be on the top of everyone’s list, however, the Element series offers excellent value and a more affordable alternative to the premium models we see above. Overall, the GT Omega is very easy to assemble, arriving in two boxes, one with the physical chair inside, and the other with the bits and bobs you need to build it.
For a budget gaming chair, the comfort and support were surprising. The material is soft enough and while being quite firm, remained comfortable after prolonged use. The addition of the memory foam lumbar and head pillow made it all the more comfortable, allowing you to sit back and relax when you aren’t in-game. The chair is easily adjustable and comes with all the multi-functional tilt mechanisms you could desire, a great budget option here.
Best gaming chair – things to consider
What do you need to think about before finding the best gaming chair for you? Luckily for you, we’ve put together a guide to everything worth knowing about – which we like to call our ‘things to consider’.
Support
Head, neck, and lumbar support for the lower back are the most common support features found on gaming chairs, sadly with a large variety of quality and functionality. At the very least you want a chair that supports your body naturally, however, where it doesn’t, memory foam lumbar cushions are a nice alternative. This also prevents and reduces your back pain, which greatly improves your mental focus and your performance in-game.
Comfort
Gaming chairs are designed to provide the utmost comfort when sitting for long hours. Material quality may give you an idea of how it feels when you sit on it, but there’s often a large difference between two chairs that use the same materials. Most chairs are either PU leather, fabric, or mesh, giving users of all needs and climates the perfect option.
Adjustability
If you always find it hard to get comfortable then you might have a unique set of requirements, if this is the case then fear not, the mid to higher-end gaming chairs now offer a whole plethora of cool features and functionality:
- Seat height adjustment
- Adjustable armrests
- Adjustable lumbar support
- Tilt adjustment
- Recline adjustment
- Back height adjustment
What are 4D armrests?
Essentially this just means you can adjust the armrests in four distinct ways. In most cases, they are up/down, forward/backward, side to side, and angle relative to the chair. This might sound needless, but there is science to back up the utility of 4D armrests. A study reported in the Journal of Physical Therapy Science showed that “The forearm support reduced upper trapezius and anterior deltoid muscular activity bilaterally, for all upper arm angles.” For laymen, this means that your muscles are less constantly activated, which results in less strain.
Surprisingly, our secondary research has backed up the validity of 4D armrests, showing that they do help enforce a healthy sitting posture. However, there is still no consensus that the four different types of adjustment are important. Up and down adjustment contributes to a healthy posture, but the rest may indeed be superfluous. Regardless, it’s nice to have more personalization, but it’s by no means crucial.
Durability
A good gaming chair should be made of durable materials. No one wants to buy a gaming chair only to need to replace it within the next 3 months or so. Typically, you would want the frame to be made of strong, long-lasting materials like steel.
As for the padding, armrests, and body of the seat, you should look for materials such as, but not limited to:
- Cold cured foam
- Memory foam
- Polyurethane
Compatibility
Aside from being compatible with a console setup or a PC setup, there are gaming chairs that are compatible with other devices, such as:
- Steering wheels
- Keyboard stand
- Flight simulation pack
- Monitor stands/mounts
Generally, these input devices let the user experience their games in new ways but require obtuse sitting arrangements. Because both chairs and these devices are expensive, it is vital that you take your time to understand the compatibility you are looking for.
How much does a gaming chair cost?
The short answer is that it depends. The more features, the higher quality, and the reputation of the brand will all lead to a higher cost overall. It’s an inconvenient truth that the more famous the brand, the more they can successfully charge. Additionally, the materials make a huge difference here. If you’re wanting real leather, expect to pay a premium upwards of $200 in addition to the base cost of the chair.
What size gaming chair is right for you?
Ergonomics and features aside, it is important you pick the right size gaming chair for your build. If you’re taller or larger, consider some of the options in our dedicated best gaming chairs for tall and big gamers.
How we choose
The best gaming chair is a complete necessity for a number of different reasons. Finding the right one can be determined by several key areas. The following is a list of the areas which we consider most important when selecting a quality chair:
- Ergonomic Design
- Chair Functionality
- Lumbar support
- Build materials & quality
- Aesthetics
Ultimately, if the chair you’re looking to buy can tick off a few of these fundamental criteria, you’re more than likely onto a winner. However, finding a chair that houses all these qualities can sometimes be expensive and challenging, meaning you have to spend endless amounts of time researching numerous different options.
This is where WePC comes into the equation. Our team of dedicated computer enthusiasts spend their days researching and testing the best hardware offerings on the market and have focused their energy on this guide on finding the best gaming chair.
How we test
Testing the products we recommend is a huge part of the overall selection process in our best of guides. It’s a way to make sure what we recommend is, without a doubt, the best option in its specific category.
To be sure a product is “the best,” it must show excellent performance in our tests, and display better qualities and features than the competition it faces.
Most of the products we recommend here at WePC have gone through a strict testing process that involves everything from the price and performance, to build quality, efficiency, and aesthetics. Each product is pushed to the limit to see how it performs under intense stress to make sure it warrants our coveted top spot.
Doing this enables us to provide you with the most accurate review of how the product performs and, ultimately, whether it’s worth your hard-earned cash.

Yes, but they aren’t always easy to find. This is because there are far more cheap knock-offs in this product category than any other. Additionally, many are all style and no substance, so tread carefully.
What is the best brand for gaming chairs?
With many names out there and cheap knockoffs to avoid, we’d recommend sticking to the likes of Secretlab, Razer, Noblechairs, and GT OMEGA – just to name a few. We’re also quite fond of Corsair, DXRacer, and Herman Miller.
If we had to pick one brand, it would be Secretlab right now, but there is plenty of good competition out there.
